Pool Spa Combo

Combining a concrete pool with a spa is a popular choice for homeowners who want to enjoy the benefits of both a swimming pool and a spa in one cohesive design. Here are some reasons to choose a concrete pool and spa combination:

  1. Versatility: A concrete pool and spa combination offers versatility and flexibility in terms of functionality. You can enjoy the benefits of a pool for swimming, exercise, and recreation, while also having the option to relax in a spa-like environment with soothing jets, massage features, and therapeutic benefits.

  2. Customisation: Building a concrete pool and spa combination allows for extensive customisation. You can design the pool and spa to fit your specific preferences, incorporating various shapes, sizes, and depths. Additionally, you have the freedom to choose different finishes, tile patterns, lighting, and additional features that create a unique and personalised aquatic space.

  3. Aesthetics: Concrete pools and spas can be visually stunning when integrated into the overall design of your outdoor space. The ability to match the materials, colors, and finishes of the pool and spa with the surrounding landscape or architectural style adds to the aesthetic appeal of the combination.

  4. Added Relaxation: Having a spa integrated into the pool design provides additional opportunities for relaxation and hydrotherapy. You can enjoy the warm, therapeutic waters of the spa, relieving stress and promoting relaxation after a swim or any time you desire a soothing soak.

  5. Entertainment Value: A concrete pool and spa combination can enhance the entertainment value of your outdoor area. It provides a space where you can host gatherings, parties, or intimate get-togethers, allowing your guests to enjoy swimming, lounging, and the therapeutic benefits of the spa.

  6. Longevity and Durability: Concrete pools and spas are known for their durability and long lifespan. When properly constructed and maintained, they can offer years of enjoyment, making them a solid investment for your property.

Applecross

This above-ground pool + spa combination was designed as a black and white colour contrast. The black spa acting as a reflection surface to capture the sunset and surrounding trees; with the pool featuring a white infinity edge and diamond pool plaster interior. Razor sharp edges were achieved with clever concealment of the overflow trough and technical work below. Pouring a smooth concrete surround leaves only the channel and infinity edge visible.

On the pool’s first entry step we created a wading area higher than external concrete surrounds and extending the perimeter of the spa on three sides, allowing a comfortable and safe entry to the pool and the spa. The southern wading area is 800mm x 3 metres and allows space for sitting / lounging and kids to play. The spa was designed for maximum comfort and visual effect. It features comfortable height bench seating and eight (8) spa jets supercharged with air in both the spa floor and seat. The pool and spa are heated with an instant gas heater. When in spa mode, the spa separates from the pool. The pool will overflow as normal but the spa filters, runs and heats independently, to allow instant heat and spa user comfort and enjoyment. This pool also features an automatic filling system to compensate for evaporation and splashout.
