Infinity Pools

Applecross

This Pool + Spa combo has a full circumference infinity edge, designed to look as though it is literally rising out of the ground. To achieve this, the pool has been constructed 300mm higher than the external finished floor level and the spa within the pool is constructed 300 mm higher than the pool water level.

Construction of an infinity edge is incredibly complicated and requires a high level of skill to ensure it is perfectly level and perfectly straight both horizontally and vertically.

Infinity Pools

Infinity pools, also known as vanishing edge or infinity edge pools, are a popular and visually striking type of swimming pool. Here's some reasons you might choose to build an infinity pool:

  1. Aesthetics: Infinity pools are renowned for their stunning and dramatic visual appeal. They create the illusion of a pool edge seamlessly blending into the surrounding landscape or a scenic view. The "vanishing" edge gives the impression that the water extends infinitely, hence the name. This design element can enhance the overall beauty and elegance of your outdoor space.

  2. Panoramic Views: Infinity pools are often built in locations that offer breathtaking views, such as overlooking a lake, ocean, city skyline, or scenic landscape. The design of an infinity pool maximizes the view by eliminating a visible edge, allowing swimmers to feel a sense of connection with the surrounding environment.

  3. Unique Experience: Swimming in an infinity pool provides a unique and immersive experience. The visual effect of the water seemingly merging with the horizon creates a tranquil and serene atmosphere. It can be a soothing and relaxing experience to swim or lounge in an infinity pool.

  4. Architectural Statement: Infinity pools are considered architectural features that can become a focal point of a property. Their striking design and modern aesthetics can elevate the overall look and value of a home or resort.

  5. Water Conservation: Infinity pools use a design concept called an "overflow system" where excess water spills over the vanishing edge into a catch basin or reservoir. This water is then recirculated back into the pool. This design not only creates the infinity effect but also helps conserve water by minimizing waste.

  6. Customization Options: Infinity pools can be customized to fit various sizes, shapes, and styles. They can be incorporated into different types of landscapes and can be designed with additional features such as built-in spas, waterfalls, or swim-up bars, further enhancing the pool's functionality and visual appeal.

  7. It's important to note that building an infinity pool requires careful planning, expertise in hydraulic engineering, and appropriate site conditions. It's important to work with an experienced pool designer and builder like Graziani as we have extensive expertise in constructing infinity pools to ensure proper functionality and aesthetics.

Applecross 1

Soaring 9 metres above ground level, this project features an impressive 20 lineal metres of infinity edge, a wading deck, overflow pool and a series of koi ponds. Construction required one pour of 45 cubic metres of concrete in the pool, and 15 cubic metres in the pond. The pool is stunning by night with 25.5 lineal metres of strip lighting illuminating the water overflowing on the external wall. The end result cannot be described as anything other than pure luxury.Description
